Below are each of the seniors from the Paulding Symphonic Chorale! Check it out!
Aleah has been a dedicated member of the Paulding choir program since the 5th grade! She sings tenor and alto, play tuba, as well as saxophone. Beyond choir, Aleah is an active participant in the band, FFA, Science Olympiad, Jazz Band, Varsity Quartet, and the drama department. Her most recent role being Rosie in Mamma Mia!
Aleah's favorite high school music memories is rehearsing with quartet, an experience that allowed her to grow musically and personally.
When asked about a mentor who has inspired her, Aleah named Jessica Schuster:
"I have known Jessica since I was in 4th grade. In that entire time, I have never once seen her without a smile or upset. I aspire to be like her. She always lights up a room when she walks in. Everyone loves her, and her happiness is super contagious. Jessica has always pushed me to be a better version of myself and has encouraged me to persevere through any obstacle - even the songs I like to suggest!"
After graduation, Aleah plans to attend the Bowling Green State University to purse a degree in Nursing with a minor in Music. When asked why music is so important to her, Aleah explained:
"I love how music connects people. Music is one of the only things that everyone can understand - it's a universal language."
Laila has been a dedicated member of the Paulding choir program since the 5th grade. She sings alto in choir! Her favorite song she has ever sang in choir was “Cole’s Song”. Beyond choir,
Laila is an active participant in the Varsity Cheerleading (for football and basketball), OMUN, Quizbowl, Varisty Quartet, and Drama! With her most recent role being Donna in Mamma Mia!
One of Laila’s favorite high school music memories are he days after concerts when we would eat cookie bars and just chill.
When asked about a mentor who has inspired her, Laila named Jennifer Bradford:
“My coach Jennifer Bradford inspires me every day. She does so much for everyone else and hardly ever complains, and she has always been so kind to me and my family!”
After graduation, Laila plans to attend the Bowling Green State University to pursue a degree in early childhood education! When asked why music is so important to her, Laila explained:
“I love how you can convey so much emotion through music! I love singing good songs with good people.”
This is Matthew’s first year being in choir! He sings Bass in choir! His favorite song he has sang in choir was the “Star-Spangled Banner”. Beyond choir, Matthew is an active participant in the Play, Jazz Band, and Marching Band!
One of Matthew’s favorite high school music memory is the class of 2024-2025 having the chance to go to state with the high school band.
When asked about a mentor who has inspired him, Matthew named his grandma, sharing:
“The person that inspired me is my grandma. She taught me to not let anyone define who I am!”
After graduation, Matthew plans to attend a school to learn a trade/trades and become the best person he can be! When asked why music is so important to him, Matthew explained:
“I like to be able to put emotion into the things that I play and sing!”
Lilian has been a dedicated member of the choir since 5th grade! She sings soprano in choir! Her favorite song she has ever sang in choir was the “Orange Colored Sky”. Beyond choir, Lilian is an active participant in Varisty Quartet, Band, Jazz Band, and Marching Band!
One of Lilian’s favorite high school music memory is singing in choir with Mr. Clapsaddle.
When asked about a mentor who has inspired her, Lilian named Mr. Foster and Mr. Clapsaddle, sharing:
“They inspire me to get better and aren’t afraid to be confident in singing or playing what I like doing. Also to never give up on myself just because I mess up, it happens”
After graduation, Lilian plans to attend a college to get a degree in digital art and something along the line of music! When asked why music is so important to her, Lilian explained:
“What I like about music is that it can make me feel something, feel emotions when either I play or sing. I especially love playing interesting pieces that either I have or haven’t heard before. I love to sing, it’s one of the things I love to do. I’m also a lot more confident in my singing voice. Choir is very enjoyable and I love singing and making beautiful music”
Izzy has been a member of the choir since 5th grade! She sings soprano in choir! Her favorite song she has ever sang in choir was the “Phantom of the Opera”. Beyond choir, Izzy is an active participant in Band, Marching Band, Dance, Quartet, Drama, and Quiz Bowl!
One of Izzy’s favorite high school music memory is Aleah swinging on the playground during Band Camp and the swing breaking straight down the middle, making Aleah fall onto the mulch.
When asked about a mentor who has inspired her, Izzy named Holly Gibson and Mary *Sis* Schroeder, sharing:
“They have been my dance teachers since I started dance at 3 or 4 and have pushed me to strive for the best dancer I can be. They’ve been there for me since the beginning and I couldn’t imagine my life without them now. Not only has the studio been a place to work to get better, it became a second home for me and many others.”
After graduation, Izzy plans to attend the Bowling Green State University for the Medical Field! When asked why music is so important to her, Izzy explained:
“I think it is so cool that there are so many different genres of music to fit different moods, atmospheres, and just what you want to listen to in the moment. It’s also truly amazing that anyone can make music if they want to.”
